Production Planner

Production planner apprentices will work with production and manufacturing personnel along with project management in preparing plans and schedules for the manufacture and construction of our products. They will become familiar with high level planning efforts for ship construction such as developing construction narratives, erection sequences, space control diagrams, and master drawing lists. Planner apprentices will develop master schedules to establish sequence and lead time for each operation to meet construction key events such as launch, steaming, and sea trials. They will also plan and schedule workflow for departments, shops, and individual work centers according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Production planner apprentices will take courses specifically developed for the production planner apprenticeship, including five semesters of academic work that will lead to a two-year Associate of Science degree in business administration.
