Modeling and Simulation Analyst

Modeling Simulation and Analysis plays a critical role during product life cycle, as a cost and time saving tool for assessing designs, improving processes, planning, testing and evaluation. Modeling and Simulation (M&S) technicians assist in every stage of M&S study, including, conceptual modeling, data collection, simulation construction and output analysis. M&S apprentices learn to design and build computer simulations, identify problems and improve operations. Through hands on experience, apprentices apply innovative simulation practices in the area of ship construction and war fighter operations. M&S apprentices participate in a 3-year rotation plan that gives them insight into numerous aspects of M&S. In the Infrastructure rotation apprentices learn about distributive systems, networks, collaboration and military exercises. In the Operations Research and Analysis rotation, apprentices are exposed to such disciplines as industrial engineering, systems engineering and operations research. Simulation and software development rotation covers aspects of software engineering, where apprentices build complex simulations and assist in development and assessment of simulation tools. A special assignment rotation takes apprentices through such areas as 3D modeling and physics-based M&S. At the end of this program participants acquire the necessary skills and experiences to be successful Modeling Simulation and Analysis professionals in any field of application.
