Ingalls Shipbuilding recruits, hires, trains and promotes individuals in
all job titles without regard to race, color, creed, religion, ancestry,
sexual orientation, national origin, age, sex, physical or mental disability,
being a disabled or other protected veteran or based on any other protected
characteristic.
In order to qualify for admission to the Apprentice program, the
applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Official High School Transcript or GED test scores
- Original or Certified Copy of Birth Certificate
- State issued Driver’s License or ID
- Original or Certified Copy of Social Security Card
- Military Discharge Papers (DD214) if you have ever served active duty
in the Armed Services
All applicants will be screened by the Ingalls Shipbuilding Employment
Office for security and employability. Employment will contact applicants if
they are denied employment.
Online applications are then sent to the Apprentice Program Admissions
Office for further screening and educational verification. Once
application meets the requirements, you will be called for an intake
interview and Work Key discussion where original documents must be
brought in.
Since our craft positions are unionized, the applicable union has the
initial right to refer applicants. Once you have completed the profile,
application and have the referral, you are eligible for a pre-screen interview
with a recruiter at the Ingalls Shipbuilding Employment Office.
